How long would you expect a gas tank for your grilll to last?

Just went outside and turned on the grill, out of gas. We have been exchanging our gas tanks at the local OT, but it seems they don't last too long> is there a better place to exchange, how long should they last?
We grill out alot, but say 45 minutes 3 or 4 times a week, shouldn't they last longer than 2 weeks?

  • We grill 3-4 times a week, and ours lasts...no less than a month. Usually 2-3 months.

What's an OT? We have a small mom and pop shop that does propane refills and that's where we go.

  • We grill about twice a week and the tank lasts us a good 2-3 months.

Maybe you got a half empty one.. or half full. However you want to look at it. :)

  • Try a different place. I am also a NUT about turning off the valve right after I am finished grilling. It really makes a difference. :)

  • sad to say we refill at walmart.

2 weeks is TOO SHORT... something seems off there.

  • We've gone through a tank in a couple of weeks before. We usually exchange at a gas station (though we used to refill at the propane supplier in our town but they stopped).
