7yo Birthday Ideas, is Candyland too babyish?

Trying to plan DD's birthday party out early this year...She will be 7 on October 31 (Halloween) & wants it at her dads Masonic Lodge. We will have a bounce house, a Pinata and games to go with our party theme....

I first suggested a Rainbow/Art party- but she didnt seem too into it -- I was going to set up so they could do sand art, bead art (you know iron on beads we all loved as a kid!), and some other things....

Then her dad suggested Candy Land & do a candy themed party--- but it seems babyish to me- 7 year olds dont play candy land anymore?! ...

Any ideas, suggestions?

  • Not at all. I was thinking I would do this for my son's birthday when he is seven. You have Lord Licorice and the different characters. Get candy from each of the candy stops. Kids can play the game in a real life version. You can have kids be teams and one person from each team draws a card and makes a stop around the room, which IS the game. At least that is my plan. To set up the party room like actual game. If you have a bounce house that could be the candy castle in the end. What a sweet theme. Go for it.

  • At 7 I would think she would have some pretty clear ideas of what she wants herself...

  • Are you having it on Halloween? I would think a costume party with silly Halloween decorations would be fun, you could freeze grapes, and have a "feel the eyeball" tank, there is tons of things you could do, pumpkin painting whatever.
I like the candyland theme, what does she want to do?

  • What theme does she want. My Son is the same age & picks his theme every year. Candy Land sounds great to me though! My Son would love to go to a Candy Land Party!

  • How about setting up a Wii & have a Dance Party? Or just let her write down a few ideas & go from there.
