Did they refer to themselves as Schindlerjuden first, or was it a moniker originally used by someone else to refer to them? If it was the former, I guess I have no quibble. If it was the latter...Answer Question

I see it as more of a term of endearment. They have that special connection to him. It doesn't mean that they belong to him.
