Can you settle a debate?

My dd is invited to her classmates bday party. It's a double party for her friend and the girl's older brother.

I bought a gift for the boy too, even though I've only met him once. I didn't spend an enormous amount. Anyways....My SO didn't think we should get him anything..only dd's friend.

So, what would or do you do in this situation. Buy gifts for both or only the friend?

  • Is the older brother having his own friends over too? If it's a dual party, & they're each having people over, I think I would've just bought for your child's friend. But you have a kind heart, so I can see why you did what you did. Enjoy the quiet time while the little one is away :)

  • I would have bought at least a little something for the boy, although I wouldn't have spent much money. Maybe just a couple of king-sized candy bars, but I would have wanted him to have a small gift to open.

  • It's a child's birthday.. I'd buy him a present. Kids and presents just go together so I think it would be fun to contribute to the entire party atmosphere!!!
