  • I begged for a sibling too. My mom actually made a list of "rules" if she was going to get pregnant again, lol. Anyway she did but then she miscarried. I didn't ask after that. I also really wanted a piano keyboard (still do) and I got a little one one year but never the big one I desired. I know it was a money issue though.

  • Before I went to kindergarten, I remember really wanting this Sesame Street toy that a friend of mine had. You would push a key on a keyboard and a character would pop out of a door. My mom looked and looked, she told me, but never could find one in the stores. Later on I wanted roller skates, but my parents vetoed that idea because they didn't think a blind kid on skates would be very safe in the neighborhood. I did get a Little People house I really wanted, which was quite a big deal because money was tight back then.

  • I think I must be the only person ever who doesn't remember missing out on things I desperately wanted. I only remember kind of wanting like... certain dolls and things like that. We'd usually each get something similar for Christmas (I have two younger sisters) - usually we'd all three want a doll, and we'd get one... but just at Christmas. We weren't spoiled at all.
