We dated for a few years 10 years ago. I wanted to marry him, but he wanted to get married , but not to me. So we broke up. I was hurt. Time passed, he wanted to be friends. First, I said no, but then he won me over.
We go to each other's work Christmas parties, and I get tickets so we can go to concerts and wrestling together. We have sex. He doesn't have a girlfriend. He is 40 and I am 46.
In the past, he said he wanted to find someone special to marry and have children with, but he's not getting any younger, and WHO does he think he's going to find anyway? And I have a teen-age son. He's 40 and balding!
I'm buying him a $500 gift he wants for his birthday. Do you think he'll eventually realize that i'm the one for him???

You really need to stop kidding yourself. He doesn't want you. You know that. He is just using you. And do not buy him that $500 present. Stop buy tickets to things to. Does he spend as much money as you do, on things?

In the past, he said he wanted to find someone special to marry--- He doesn't think your're special, he just gets to have sex with you when he doesn't have anyone else. Why would you want to be married to him?
