Frozen chicken in crockpot question

I want them done ASAP. I know they only take 4-6 hours on low. Can I start them on high for an hour then switch to low or will that screw it up?

I just covered them with a jar of pico de gallo salsa. Didn't have a taco seasoning packet. I saw that suggestion on here somewhere.

  • Yum! I made a similar recipe to that a few weeks ago, but I added a can of cream of mushroom soup to the salsa in the crockpot, then threw in chicken thighs. When I took the chickenout to shred, I stirred in about a cup of sour cream. I served the chicken over rice.

  • You can... I know I have. :0) If you don't have taco seasoning it will still be good however if ou have some salt, chili powder, onion and garlic powder I would rub the chicken down in that as well.

  • Couldn't you just leave it on high the whole time? I've done both and it turned out fine.

  • I made that a few weeks ago and even frozen they were done and shredded easily in 4 hours. Chicken breasts cook pretty fast.

  • This mama doesn't rub chicken! LOL, go salsa go. I'll put it in a tortilla and shred cheese on it. Job over!
