5 Bumps

Why me? Lol....deviled egg ideas needed ASAP

I just got a text from my DIL asking me to bring deviled eggs to granddaughters bday party this afternoon. Not a problem, you ladies know I like to cook.

Here is the clincher...DIL asked that I bring at least 5 different varieties. Wtf? I've been making deviled eggs the same way for 25 years. Mayo, mustard, salt and pepper.

So...can ya'll help me come up with 5 varieties? I have to make at least 100 she said. Btw, it's only going to be 108 again today so I have no clue how I will keep them safe to eat.

Ps....I can't stand for people to put such last minute expectations on me and I swear this happens all the freaking time. Ugh....(sorry. Vent over lol)

  • Why would you need to bring 5 different varieties? That's a bit much to expect of someone.
I usually make the regular one, but I have made it with shredded crab meat. Other than that, I can't think of one. Pinterest might be your best bet for a demand like this.

  • I make them the same, but I also add dill - that could be a variation.
Some with chopped pickles or relish, spicy ones with cayenne mixed in, try different herbs like parsley, cilantro, sage, etc.

It's so hot where you are.. maybe freeze a shallow container with about an inch or 2 of water in them, and put your serving tray on top.

  • LOL I'm just like you. I have no idea what variations there are on deviled eggs! I guess you could paprika every other one :D I do put diced onion in mine

There are probably a ton of ideas online but the time thing is what is difficult. How are you going to boil, cool, peel and make all of those in that time frame?

  • I like to add Feta to mine. It adds an unexpected Zing
    Another variety?
    Add bacon and jalapeno

    100?!
How big is this kid's party going to be?
Put them on a tray and put the tray on a casserole dish, put ice in the casserole dish- voila, chiller

  • Hope the water is boiling! Get cherry tomatoes and put a slice over one, paprika on another, dill or pickles in one, avocado on one and bacon on one?
