Funny customer story

I worked at a grocery store in the mid 90's
One day I was checking out what I had bought for my lunch, and overheard a woman at the customer service counter
She was LIVID. She walks up,and throws a package on the counter and demands her money back. She says "these were terrible! They obviously have gone bad"
The employee is holding back her laughter. I'm intriqued,so I wander over.
The lady apparently had purchased Frosty Paws.
I asked her,"ma'am? Did you eat these yourself?"
"Of course I did. How else would I know they were expired or something?"
Now i'm holding back from laughing.
"Ma'am. Those are ice cream treats for DOGS"
She just stood there with her mouth hanging open, then turned tail and left the store
Then we all broke out in laughs :)

  • I had a customer purchase "bubble tape" (gum)
When I was bagging it up she said "I'll need more tape for Christmas presents"
It didn't hit me right then what she was saying... I guess she was surprised when she tried to wrap with it!

  • My first shock comes from the fact that Frosty Paws have been out this long, I thought they were a somewhat new product! Also, the picture of the dog, and that they were in a little freezer in the pet section didn't clue her in?
