Anyone get a "surprise" pregnancy utilizing the "pull and pray" method of BC?

I just read that this method has a 27% failure rate; however, if it's done correctly, the failure rate is 4%-on par with other forms of BC. Anyone here get pregnant using this method?

  • Actually, the pull out method along with basal body temperature method can be very effective. I did this for eight years and I did get pregnant last fall (I had a miscarriage though), it was because of a few days of carelessness. I have had bad reactions to most birth controls so this is what has worked for me (when used properly).

  • I used the pull out method for 3 years with no pregnancies. The one time he got "lazy" and decided not to pull out...

  • I do not understand how having unprotected sex can result in a surprise pregnancy. It should not come as any surprise.

  • I have a friend who only uses this method. They have two planned kids, 3 years apart, been married for 13 years. Personally, I think she's nuts but it works for them

  • My first, of course he also told me he couldn't have kids as his swimmer's were "dead". Imagine my surprise when 2.5 months after my "surprise" he impregnated someone else. (I had dumped him for cheating about a week before I found out I was pregnant so THAT wasn't a big loss.)
