Why do laundry baskets have holes?

Is there an obvious reason I am missing? Maybe to see what's in it, or somehow let odors escape or.... something?

  • Next time, stuff your laundry down in a plastic bag or a cardboard box and leave it for several days. When you reach down in there to get the clothes and catch a whiff, you'll know why laundry baskets have holes.
