What do you use on the floor by your bathtub to soak up water?

I use a towel. Is there supposed to be a rug there or what?

  • i have rugs in each bathroom that match the theme. but in my bathroom i have a standalone shower and a garden tub, and the rug is in front of the shower because i use it more. since im too lazy to move it over when i take a bath, i just put a towel there.

  • Some people use small rugs with rubber backing, called bath mats, but towels work just fine. The rugs do tend to slip less than towels, so if shaky balance or falling easily is an issue, the rugs are better.

  • I have a memory foam bath mat

  • Oh wait, you mean in the shower? Nothing, but the floor of the shower has sort of a rough pattern on it to prevent slipping. The bathtub doesn't, but we are going to get these peel-and-stick strips you can put down, since the cat likes to pop the suction cups that make the rubber bath mats stay in place. Seriously, at night, you'll hear, "Pop! Pop, pop, pop!" And the stupid cat is loosening all the suction cups.

  • No not IN the tub. I wouldn't put a towel in the tub, or a rug. Heh. But that prompts another question!!

  • We have a rug but it is for comfort and to help with not slipping on a wet floor. It doesn't get very wet because we dry ourselves while still in the confines of the shower stall./ bathtub
