  • I've been married so long I can't remember what it was like to be single, so no, I guess I don't miss anything about it! Working on 49 years here!

  • "After reading this, I realize I might be a man. With a vagina."

    And great boobs too! Hehehe!

And if that is all it takes to make you a man... then hell I must be one too. I think all of those things are totally valid things. I have been married all of my adult life, so I guess I just am use to those things. They do drive me crazy too though.

  • I REALLY miss being able to clean my whole house in 45 minutes. Really, really miss that! Oh and doing two loads of laundry a week. What a pleasure that was.

  • I miss having my own money. Seems like I got to spend my money on more frivolous things like a new pair of shoes just because they're cute.

  • I don't know. When I think about it, the only thing that comes to mind is not feeling guilty when I'm invited somewhere fun and he can't go Most of the freedom I miss that I see my single friends enjoy comes from not having kids, not just being single lol. But I don't really envy them. I like coming home to my boys and its been so long I wouldn't know what to do by myself.

  • I miss being able to do whatever I want whenever I want. I miss the quite times when there were no kids (I wouldn't give them up!) I miss being able to make major decissions on my own. Now we talk things over and THEN do what I want.

  • I have not been single in 41 years so how can I miss something that lasted so little time?

Answer by older at 11:11 AM on Aug. 7, 2013

  • I guess I should count my blessings then... My Husband's gone a month or more with his job, so I am alone a lot. I can hog the bed, stay up, or go to bed whenever I want. I watch what I want on TV, have a girls day out, or stay in my pj's all day. I can cook, or not. Our boys don't care. Although I do stick to a pretty strict routine, like dinners at the table, bedtimes, etc. But for myself it doesn't really matter.

The only downside is he doesn't get to spend as much time as he'd like with our boys. They talk on the phone a lot, and when he's home, they spend a lot of time together in the shop, and he makes time for each of them separately. We also communicate a lot, about everything, some times 10 or more times a day on the phone.
So we do answer to each other, which I'm so thankful I have him to back me up....

So nope, I don't want to be single, but I'm thankful for the life we have. It's tough at times, but it works.

  • I miss being able to do what I want to do when I want to do it, I don't feel like going to the store, so I will just eat soup. I guess sometimes being responsible for the crew makes me want to run off to Mexico. LOL!
