  • No embryonic. Besides the scientists say the cord cells are much better.

I think cord blood and placentas should automatically be harvested when a woman gives birth. If she wants to store the cord blood that is fine. However, something that valuable scientifically shouldn't be thrown out with the trash!

  • I'm against using embryonic stem cells but I donated my placentia so they could use that instead of aborted fetuses. I think using stem cells from the umbillical cord is fine because its going to waste anyway...

  • dont know enough about it to honestly be for or against it ... but scientist will always do what they feel is right

  • I do not agree with embryonic stem cells, if my hospital would accept donated cord blood etc, I would do it. As a PP said, it is just going to waste, but I do not like to see a life being created just to be destroyed.

  • I don't understand why we can't have a stem cell bank for cord blood...Why wasn't this in the health care portion of the bill. Billions of babies are born everyday, why don't they save the blood. I do not agree with using frozen embryos for anything other than producing live babies. I think our fertility clinics need to be highly scrutinized after the Octo-mom and the 50 yr old being implanted and now giving birth to quads.

  • why not try to save a life?? we cant stop abortion as much as i would like, so why not take the fetus and possibly save another?

  • The answer to why not is that no research has proven that it saves lives or that there are any cures to be found with fetal or embryonic stem cells but they do cause tumors.
