Quick sore throat remedies?

I'm getting a sore throat and have so much to do this week with work, packing, daughter's birthday, relatives staying with us. No time to be sick!

I've already made myself a honey, lemon, cayenne, and cinnamon tea. No dice.

Anything else that kicks ass and works well? Thanks! :)

  • I started getting that too. I drank 2 packages of Emergen-C... twice a day. I also took ibuprofen, which helped a lot. And tons of water and hot tea. I only really felt bad for two days.

  • I second the salt water. I had strep throat a few months ago...and that worked pretty well. But...it is gross.

  • I always take ibuprofen for my sore throats. It's the only thing that actually gets rid of the pain for me. Then I gargle with salt water.

  • Melt a dab of butter, mix in some honey so you can stand the taste, and swallow it warm. My grandma used to give it to us. It works wonders.
