Thrift shop/rummage sale/etc shoppers...what have you found lately?

yesterday i found this at Goodwill for 99 cents

1953 pre scrabble board


i needed for the letters

daughter six

reading specialist, instructed me last week at a meeting, on a "learning lesson"

say it : (i write it on earser board and say word)
make it :(she makes with wooden letters, or magnet letters)
write it :(she writes it on eraser board)

* there is extra space at bottom, daughter made up- then draw it. she is so bright

  • I love my set of corningware bowls I found... they're hideous green with pretty white flowers. Wish I had the whole ugly dish set.

  • not much that's exciting- BUT I did find a pair of cargo type capris that were black and fit perfect!

    The last 3 yrs or so- I have not had nearly as much luck as I used to with thrift stores. Seems they have got a lot more...crappy stuff

  • We owned that green bowl when I was a kid! And remember those shiny metallic kitchen cups? ok but this week I got my youngest the last pair of Nike free runs that were discontinuing at $39

    That was my favorite toy as a kid! I got one for my daughter, and she calls it her "toy wheel." It's okay, but not like I remember, and she mostly uses it as a table to sit on the floor at.

    Anyway, I found tons of fun socks at the flea market, till in new packaging, dirt cheap. So my daughter can go to school with hearts or stars or other jazz like that on her socks now that she's old enough to match the pairs herself and not rely on Mom to do it.
