Ok, my kids know way too much 80's and 90's stuff!

we went to an eagles' club picnic on sunday. they had karaoke and the girls sang about three songs. the one song that made everyone clap really loud was their version of i love rock and roll by joan jett. they also did ghost rider. a couple of the older people made comments about how the girls knew how to sing the joan jett song. they are 8 and 6 years old. and knew all the words without the promoter! i listen to it too much i guess.

so question: what song does your children know that you grew up with?

  • My 5yo knows a lot of Elvis music. He died when I was 6, and I wasn't a fan growing up. But she has a huge crush on him now.

  • My daughter knows all the 80's hair bands and the mainstream songs.

I, in turn, learned oldies music like Frankie Valli from my dad.
