  • How old is she? How often will she be going, and for how long? What are your concerns about getting her ready, or why do you feel she's not ready yet?

  • She is almost 5 and will be going to preschool in a litle over a week and it'll be for three hours a day. Shes real shy and shes not around alot of kids.

  • If you can't spell she's not ready

  • As far as academics, help here with shapes, numbers, colors, the alphabet, etc. As far as social, if she is not use to being without you, try doing a trial run with her being away from you for an hour or so. Maybe do a playdate or something as well. To be honest, a week is not much time to prepare.

  • I worked in preschools years ago and she will be fine!

She will get some wonderful teachers that will show her love and be there to help prepare her for her early kindergarten years.

She will make a lot of new friends and that will help boost her confidence and bring her out of her shell.

You can be assured that she will be taken care of.

  • You can get her excited about going, talk about making friends and sharing and caring. Love the book The Kissing Hand, it talks about leaving Mom in a gentle, very touching way--read it first if you have not so you don't cry.

Working with numbers, letters, shapes and colors is great and something you should do at her pace to encourage this learning but honestly if she does not know any of these things that is what preschool is all about. There is no entrance exam.
