  • Is her pediatrician concerned! Seems pretty normal to me. My DS is about the same. His Ped is happy with his height and weight.

  • How old is she?

Answer by DJDNY at 2:31 PM on Aug. 10, 2013

  • Sorry, that should have been a question mark. If her Ped doesn't seem concerned then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Eventually she will hit a growth spurt and she will increase her intake and probably her menu. Picky eaters can be frustrating though.

  • she's a kid- and under 5 ft tall so I wouldn't worry too much.
I was a SUPER skinny kid- but when I hit about 13 or 14...I gained and have fought with weight since...

  • It depends on how old she is.

  • My youngest son is 57 inches tall and weighs about that much. Unless her doctor is concerned, I'd say don't worry about it.

  • I am 5'61/2' Until I was 23 I never weighed over 72 lbs soaking wet. By the time I got pregnant several years later I weighed 98 lbs.
If you are concerned you can have her thyroid checked but she is more than likely fine. I was not a picky eater. BTW. What you call picky may also just be what others think of as not enough.
My advice is to leave her alone.

  • Picky eaters are maddening, but it doesn't sound like your granddaughter's growth is being negatively impacted.

  • So about 4 1/2 feet tall? I think that is in the normal range, you can google height / weight charts to see .
