Did you have a 3D ultrasound with any of your pregnancies?

How far along were you? How clear was the image? Did baby look cute or freaky at that point?

I had one at 36 weeks with my first daughter and she was cute and chubby but a little cramped so the images might not been as clear as they could've been.

At my 20 week scan with this one they switched over to 3D and I wish they hadn't because she has NO fat whatsoever and looks like a skeleton baby!

  • No- I could have but I did not for several reasons
1)I wanted what they looked like to be a surprise.
    2)They were expensive
3)They actually seem a little creepy to me.

  • No, but I know a blind woman who had one, and she had it printed out on some kind of fancy printer that made a tactile representation of it so she could feel what it was like. She was excited.

  • I had two around 30 weeks. The first time we could not get a face shot. Baby just wanted to show her goodies. The 2nd time came out just fine.

She looked plump and cute, but not anything like what she did when she was born.

  • Nope. Not with either pregnancy. I got them to check the progress of pregnancy, not to see what baby would look like. I just wanted to know that they were healthy.

  • Nope. They were not around for my son, and still really new for my daughter. And, insurance wouldn't cover them. If I ever have another kid, I don't think I'll get a 3D with that one either.

  • I did with my son because my husband was getting ready to deploy to Iraq and miss his birth.
