Is this a dumb idea?

At work today, I got this idea and I just want to bounce it off y'all to see if it's a good idea or not.
This weekend was an amazing weekend and my SO told me he is for sure going to propose, he is saving up to buy a ring. Then we were listening to some music and he was telling me what songs he wants at our wedding.

The idea that I have is to take lyrics to some of our favorite songs and write a speech to read to him at our reception.

Thoughts?

  • It's sweet. You could also consider having some of the quotes printed on the napkins or whatever kind favor things you decide to have.

  • It sounds like the speech will have meaning for you both. Wonderful idea.

  • I'm excited for you. I like the private speech idea. Or even just include what you write in your wedding album.

  • OOH! I like NP's idea better... print the quotes all over everything. Writing from the heart seems more appropriate for wedding vows.
I had a guy quote Led Zepplin to me on our 5th or 6th date and I immediately dumped him for being a cheeseball.

  • I thought about doing it for our vows, but we both agreed we want the traditional vows.

I do like it, but sometimes I have ideas that sound great but turn out really cheesy.

I do like NP's idea better and I'm having trouble tying these all together and I'm afraid I would get thru 1/2 of it on my big day and chicken out.
