so i have two cats. their food, water, and litterbox are on a screened in porch and a few weeks ago i started opening the back door so they could go outside and check out the grass if they wanted to. it started slow, they'd step on the grass and haul butt back inside, then progressed to the point where they'd want to be out there all day. their claws are intact, btw. well about 2 weeks ago, one of them was gone for almost a week. i truly thought he'd run away, and then one night at 10 or so pm he just showed up at the front door lol! he was fine, a little thin but that's it. after that i stopped letting them go outside, but they'd find ways to sneak past us when we were going out there to play outside. a few days go by, and he disappears again for a few days and same thing, shows back up at the front door. he has not left the house again, but now he won't come out of my room. i know for a fact he has not come out of there all day, not to eat, go to the bathroom (and he hasnt done that anywhere upstairs either) he just wants to sleep all day. he seems fine, he's responsive when you pet him and all. maybe he got used to going a few days without food? if he doesn't come running tomorrow morning when we fill up the food bowls, im going to have to make him come out i guess. he's about 2 years old and neutered, if that makes a difference. and we also got a new pup that he's not fond of, but i dont think that he'd starve himself to stay away from the dog.Answer Question

It could be when he was out he got hurt or scarred .If he doesn't get moving around tomorrow id call the vet and see what they think. Cats are strange in generally.
