  • Because it was sent in a personal message with the assumption that it would stay personal.

Be careful about the personal information you share online.

Don't repost messages from private groups or messages in public places. If the information was posted in a private group, assume that the member wants it to remain private.

  • LOL, oh wait, you mean why do they not want us too.
My advice is just to not post it on CM, there are other sites & avenues.

  • You mean sharing PMs from one member to another? Or from your mailbox to Answers?

  • I suppose if you have permission from the writer of the PM you could do it.

  • It's funny. I have a PM from the Admin. It definitively answers a question that's been a gray area since the bannings started, and should be something every member has to use as a reference in case the need to challenge a deletion for the reason involved comes up again (by the statement in the message, multiple posts were wrongfully deleted over the last week, and if challenged, would probably be restored).

However, if I post this message containing this information, I get in trouble. It is up to everyone else to individually ask the admin the correctly phrased question to get the answer to it (rather than a canned form letter that won't cover it at all).

  • Or how about forward the info to those who need it, NP? Not nearly as efficient, I know.

That's still technically against the rules. If one person complained, they'd go in and delete it from everyone.
