What can you do for leg cramps while 8 months along

  • Turn your toe up towards your body, it will release the cramp. Avocados and sweet potatoes have more potassium than a banana. Stay hydrated.

  • Drink water and eat bananas.

  • A heating pad on your legs might help as well.

  • Make sure your diet is balanced... muscles/nerves work on a sodium/potassium pump system that uses calcium to facilitate the transmission of impulses. You body also uses magnesium and iron at a higher rate then you take them in sometimes. Make sure you have enough of all of these minerals... not just potassium (bananas). If they are out of whack (too much of one, not enough of another) you will get muscle cramps. So... stay hydrated, make sure you have enough sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron in your system. Don't just overload on one of these!!

  • Stretch before going to sleep,sleep with a pillow between your knees and if a cramp strikes if you have a porcelain tub stand in it for some odd reason it release's leg cramps.

  • Massage or Hot legs. Drink lots of water.

  • Cramp is due to lack of salt intake but some people mistake cramp for trap nerve or you baby laying on a nerve that is connected to the leg ask you midwife or doctor for best answer
