Make sure your diet is balanced... muscles/nerves work on a sodium/potassium pump system that uses calcium to facilitate the transmission of impulses. You body also uses magnesium and iron at a higher rate then you take them in sometimes. Make sure you have enough of all of these minerals... not just potassium (bananas). If they are out of whack (too much of one, not enough of another) you will get muscle cramps. So... stay hydrated, make sure you have enough sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and iron in your system. Don't just overload on one of these!!
