    IMO. No.

  • It could cause him to be short-tempered or easily bothered by little things. I see that w/ my 22 y/o son who refuses to take his meds. He is also unable to get direction in his life or make important decisions. Very frustrating. GL

  • No. My husband has ADHD and he hasn't taken meds for it in many years. He is not abusive in any way. Ever.

  • it could lead him to yell at them in frustration if it leads to more he needs to know that you will not put up with that it will give him a wake up call, he may forget to pay the bills on time and not be able to get his life together and stay organized or focus on what he needs to do for the day, or make realistic plans, and follow through ADHD is highly treatable unmedicated can lead to the signs I just mentioned or more such as your marriage or relationship may suffer.

  • Not in and of itself, no. If he already has abusive tendencies, the increased frustration of going off his ADHD meds could makehim more cranky than usual.

Answer by Ballad at 7:59 PM on Aug. 27, 2013

  • Only if he's abusive. Having ADHD, medicated or not, does not make someone abusive. He might have a shorter temper, be more easily frustrated, or feeling withdrawals from the meds, but if he becomes abusive, it's got nothing to do with the ADHD.

  • Let's not start making excuses for wife beaters, ok?
If a guy thinks so little of a woman that he will beat her, no pill will change that.
