I'm canning fruit pie fillings. Blackberry, peach and apple.
I cooked the filling. Ladled into hot jars. Left 1/2 inch head space. Removed bubbles and wiped the rims of the jars.
Water bathed for 20 minutes. The jars i processed did not seal.
What was my mistake?
My lids were not HOT- more like warm.
After timing water bath and turning the burner off I didn't remove the jars from the pan to cool for more than 45 minutes.
What's the most likely mistake for them not sealing?
