Can you use a cell phone as a recording device?

Like in College to tape a lecture?

Maybe it's a dumb question but I am totally technologically ignorant! LOL!

  • I have a program on my phone called Evernote (had to download, it's free, though), that allows me to record a note (not music note, but a written transcription of a verbally spoken note). I'm not sure if there are any time restrictions on it, I haven't used it more than a time or two to record a quick note, but it might work.

As far as I can tell, though, my phone didn't come with anything installed that would allow me to record a lecture or something. But not all phones are the same, so yours might. I'd try looking through your apps and see if you have anything that has an image of a microphone or speakers or says something like "voice" or "speech" or something like that.

  • I can but it only last for 3 minutes, so it had better be a short lecture!
