  • Ask his Pediatrician. Usually you have to continue Formula or Breast Milk until 12 months at least.

  • Cows milk is not recommended for children under 1 year old. This would be a question best asked of your pediatrician.

  • I would personally wait until 12 months as is recommended.  Digestive system may not be able to handle it... allergy concerns... etc. etc. Google it.

  • No short answer.

Do not give your child anything without consulting with your doctor first. Long answer

  • I would continue with something nutritionally complete, intended for my baby.. meaning.... formula or breastmilk.

    Not cow's milk.

  • generally by 11mos most kiddos have actually had some dairy. SOMEONE snuck them a lick of ice cream. They've played with yogurt or gummed a cheese stick or a nibble of grilled cheese.

the goal is usually to have them off formula by 13 months or so..... boob can of course go longer but generally needs more table food

at 11mos you should certainly not hand over a 8oz bottle of straight cows milk but some sips here and there to allergy watch and help them develop a taste for it

  • Usually later is better than sooner. Early introduction of dairy has been linked to anemia.

  • I started giving small amounts of cows milk at 11 months. There is nothing that magically happens on their 1st birthday that makes cows milk okay. By starting small amounts here and there at 11 months you can have them off formula/breast milk shortly after their first birthday. Just make sure they have a varied healthy diet and keep the cows milk to 2 cups or less/day (too much milk can cause anemia)
