I need help getting bubble painting to work

here's the pin- http://pinterest.com/pin/28991991323751853/

i made the bubble solution, found something to use as a wand, found some white construction paper, took it all outside, got the two year old (who happens to love bubbles) all excited, and the damn things are coming out clear. i used three drops of food coloring for 1/4-1/2 a cup of water.
any ideas or suggestions?

  • *bump* I put a whole bottle of food coloring in my bubbles and they're still very light red.

  • Are you sure it's food coloring or is it supposed to be that stuff professionals use? (wilton makes it)

  • idk it sounded like regular food coloring.
not sure if it's worth using all the food coloring in the house..

  • The sites I skimmed said to use tempra paint, not food color.
