Brillant: my bathroom lights aren't working!

First I live in an apartment so at least I don't have to deal with it on my own.

They were working this morning and now they aren't. Checked the breaker and it was tripped so I tried to flip it back on and it automatically went off. Told management and the maintenance man came out. Flipped it again and now it started smoking!

So that is going to be a fun fix for him and probably take quite a while to get fixed. I've done this before as a kid with/for my mother, no fun but at least I don't have to do it.

So how long do you think it will take to get fixed?? Closest guess wins!(well you don't really win anything besides best answer).

  • All they have to do is put in a new outlet....should take 5 minutes but in Maintenance Man terms that's 3 weeks! :P
I hope they fix it very soon though.

  • Sounds like the breaker needs to be replaced, and that's a quick fix.
But I'm still going to guess 48 hours.

  • They just finished...may say I have a great maintenance guy lol So 33 minutes!

Poor guy said after Saturday off he will be working 15 days with no time off! The student's leases all expire the end of this month so he going to have a lot of apartments to repair and get ready for renting. So seems my breaker picked a good time to quit!
