I have a weird kid

I just realized that if someone who didn't know us wandered into the house, they'd be shaking their heads
He's walking around the house pressing a frozen pancake to his lips. He also loves to spin in circles while holding a Trio block to his eye
Oh,the wonderful autistic mind!
What weird things did your kids do?

  • My Son smells things all the time. Before he eats it, shirts befor he puts them on etc. He even asks to smell my hair before he goes to sleep at night after I give him a kiss. He also cleans his hands with wipes after he eats & cleans his toys if his sister licks them. He wipes her hands after she eats too so she doesn't "contaminate" his toys. LOL! I'm a germaphobe so he got that from me.

  • I've caught my 9 year old DS multiple times now, watching himself in the mirror as he dances and sings, pausing here and there to strike a pose. I'm living for the day when I'm both sneaky enough, and quick enough, to get it on video.

Gotta have something to show the girls when he starts dating someday lol.

^^^My dau does that too. Has your son ever gagged at whatever it is he's smelled? My dau has. It's almost comical sometimes.

  • Dd (4) hates clothes. Right when she gets home she immediately takes her clothes off and walks around in her panties.

  • My son for the longest time had a "path" that he followed through the house - touching certain screws on the light switch plates as he went and taking a certain number of steps in each room.

Mine is like that, too. I'm trying to teach her not to leave a trail of clothes starting at the door and ending up wherever she lands.

  • My 5 year old is big on talking to himself. You can totally tell he's an only child... he gets carried off into his own little world so easily. It's hilarious hearing him playing in the bathtub with his toys. He gets totally involved in made up stories between the Hulk, Venom, Batman, and occasionally Scooby Doo. I catch him saying stuff like "Yeah, bro," and things like that - oh, sorry, it's not HIM saying it... it's the toys! It's hilarious.
