Would you purchase your child a Bullet Proof back pack?

Sales of Bullet Proof Backpacks have soared since the tragedy of Sandy Hook.

The inserts to the back pack weigh about the same as a water bottle.

Costs vary from 200.00 on up.

If so, would you teach them how to properly use it as a shield or would you be concerned that the child would go to school fearful?

  • No because the chances that he would have if it was ever needed and would able to use it to save his life are pretty slim(if it even works). Not worth the added stress on him.

Regardless of past events school is still a safe place for a child.

  • nope. The weight equivalent of a water bottle, so it probably wouldn't do crap to save a child and it would end up just putting fear and paranoia in my child and probably myself.

  • Our school wouldn't be allowed. They require clear backpacks.

  • I wouldn't buy it. If I were really that worried about my child getting gunned down at school, I'd either home school or move. I send her out the door every morning with the full faith that she will come home unharmed when the day is over.
