What do you consider to be a fever?

Dd is sick, and can't return to school until she is fever free for 24 hours. I was really hoping she would be able to go tomorrow. I just checked her temp and it's 100.5.

Would you consider this to be high enought that she can't go tomorrow?

  • Yes. Call and ask if you have questions on their guidelines. I would say that constitutes a fever. Hope it goes away soon, and not just from meds. For good!

  • in my district anything over 100 is a "send you home" fever. i dont get concerned until its 101 just cause my kids healthy temp is a little higher than normal.

  • Hmmmm...so do you give fever reducer medicine if it's above 98.6? I only give it if it's above 101.

  • I just pulled up the handbook. It has to be under 100 for 24 hours without the use of medicine.

Crap crap crap. Im going to pick up her work soon. I'm afraid she's going to fall behind.
