  • um ok....it shouldn't hurt the countertop but if you're concerned but a dish towel or a big pot holder under it, problem solved

  • Protect it from what? Heat, mess? What kind of counter? Does the skillet have legs?

I have a tile counter, and if I'm cooking something messy plain old paper towels or wax paper do the trick. I have a large wood cutting board that's almost the size of the counter island, so I'll use that too.

  • I want to protect it from the heat. It is a laminate countertop. How big are your potholders? The skillet is 16 in. by 14 in. The legs are plastic and slide on the countertop...no rubber tips. I have used a wooden cutting board, but it is a little too short. I am looking for some sort of mat for insulation.

    I don't make a mess!!

    Thanks anyway.
