My grandson has early intervention. He sit and chants aha hash..very loudly but also says sum dada mama hi is ok . He is one year old this month

  • Good for him. Lots of one year olds aren't saying anything at that age.

  • Ok. So what is the question? The ECI therapist should have said something about a diagnosis.

  • If he's getting early intervention then there are some delays that place him "at risk". The professional providing the early intervention services would be the best person to talk to about his progress. Having a son with autism and three others that received early intervention, I would take the help as long as its offered! It certainly won't hurt him if he gets a little ahead in the process.

  • I'd say, don't rush him. Let him be a kid,
    he'll start talking when he's ready.
    My son didn't really start talking until 2 1/2.

  • Most kids don't say that much by that age. Most doctors won't even suggest speech therapy until the child is 2 or older.
