I am not looking for the answer, just help on how to solve this problem. Then i can help her with the rest.

Thank you so much!!!

• Add the 2 negatives together first with a common denom, then decide which is bigger the positive or negative. If the bigger # is negative the answer is negative. If the larger # is positive, then the answer is going to be positive. Subtract the smaller # from larger one and then add the sign. Does that make sense?

• What is the lowest common denominator with 6 and 8 (24)

7/8 = how many x/24's Since 3X8= 24 take 3x7 (21) so that portion of the equation is 21/24.
Figure out the other two and add them. Make sure you are at the simplest fraction you can get.

• Thank you Darnella. I have the answer as 41/24. My problem is, i dont know if its positive or negative, because 2 of the fractions were negative.
