Gift for goddaughter?

I have been asked to be the godmother to my best friend's beautiful 1 year old. I would like to give her a gift for her baptism, but I am not sure what to get her. I thought of giving her my first cross, but is that weird? Completely impractical because she is a baby. Or my first Bible that is Precious Moments. What is a good gift? They have snowglobes at Things Remembered? Or a rosary?

It will be a Catholic ceremony and upbringing, in case that matters.

  • I think handing down your necklace would be wonderful. A keepsake for her

  • I think the gifts sound beautiful. If you want something more kid-oriented, there are some kids' books about God's love on personalcreations.com that you can order with your god-child's name inserted in. I got one for my brother's foster son last spring, and it was well received.

  • I like the idea of the cross. I love a cross for the wall or a picture, as well The precious moments bible is also very sweet.
Since you are best friends you might ask mom what she thinks.

  • I think a cross is the most appropriate gift. Yours or a new one for her. Then she wears it for her Comunnion & Confirmation.
