Can I make creamed corn out of canned or frozen corn?

I'm out of creamed corn. I have tons of regular canned and frozen corn. Is there a way to turn it into creamed corn?

  • my mother in law did it with fozen (I think) but I have no idea how-I'm sure it was simple, but I didn't ask the one time I had it and she's gone now...it was better than canned stuff though

That recipe uses frozen corn. When my mom makes homemade cream corn, she always used fresh corn.

  • Cook the corn. Add some butter. Then thicken the juice with a little cornstarch and cold water, stirred together and added to the pot.

  • Pulsing it in a food processor a few times might work.
