Are there any legit (preferably free) children penpal sites?

Would love to find a penpal or two for my son and have no clue how to find a real place to get addresses.

  • Just found this one: http://www.penpalworld.com/index.asp

You can also have him write to any military service member that is stationed overseas. We ALWAYS loved getting letters from home. You didn't feel quite so alone or lonely.

This might be a good place to start for a military member: http://www.anysoldier.com/index.cfm

  • How old is your son?

When I was in elementary school we had penpals cause our teacher was friends with someone who was a teacher in another state. We did this for 2 years. All the letters were sent to the school's addresses. Maybe you can see if your son's school has something like this.

  • IN THIS DAY AND AGE, A AGREE WITH VIRGINIAMAMA....YOU HAVE TO BE SO CAREFUL....KEEP YOUR ADDRESS AND YOUR PHONE NUMBER PRIVATE....ALSO, IT IS BEST TO HAVE A PENPAL THE SAME OR NEAR THE SAME AGE AS THE CHILD.

GOOD LUCK AT FINDING THE RIGHT PENPAL.
