Doctor said it was migraines but I'm starting to wonder...

I went to my OB yesterday because I've been seeing flashing lights and I had a headache that wouldn't go away.

My blood pressure was within the normal range but high for me.

Well, he told me he thinks it's a migraine and gave me some medication.

Today I've been puking all day and seeing those flashing lights again but the headache is gone.

Any ideas? I'm 30 weeks pregnant btw

  • I'd suggest you call your doctor's office this morning to report this occurrence.

  • Nausea with aura with or without headache can still be a migraine. But, yes, call the doc's office. If you've never had these symptoms before, your OB needs to refer you to a neurologist who has experience with pregnant women.

  • Definitely call your doctor and update him or her on the situation. It sounds as if the medication isn't working, either because you don't have a migraine or because you aren't responding to the particular drug you were given. Responses to migraine medications can vary widely. Ask the doctor about preeclampsia.

  • You need to call an Opthamologists ASAP.
When the vitreous gel rubs or pulls on the
retina, you may see what look like flashing
lights or lightning streaks. You may have
experienced this same sensation if you have
ever been hit in the eye and seen “stars.”
The flashes of light can appear off and on for
several weeks or months. As we grow older, it
is more common to experience flashes. If you
notice the sudden appearance of light flashes,
    you should contact your ophthalmologist
immediately in case the retina has been torn,

This is what happened to me. Call today & get checked.
