BMI calculation question

okay so I am 66.6 inches tall, that converts to 5 ft 6 1/2 inches

i never know if i should impute 5 ft 6 in or 5 ft 7 in, most BMI calculators don't allow the 1/2 inch

which is more accurate? according to the first, i'm 25.5 BMI, but according to the 2nd, i fall in normal weight (24.7) so it does make a difference.

  • Frankly, it's not really important, is it? You know you're borderline :)

I suppose it all boils down to why you want to know. Are you checking your BMI to find out if you need to do something about it or because you want reassurance that you're fine?

  • just curious really. last time i checked it i was 20 pounds heavier lol so i wanted to know if i was in healthier ranges now, and i am either way, but i'd rather be in normal weight than still slightly overweight

  • but i guess it's true, at my current weight im teetering on the edge so i might as well wait until i lose a few more pounds
