  • I'm guessing it is a transient troll. But I'm a pessimist when it comes to stuff like that. Sometimes I wonder if its admins and the powers that be either setting up a member trap for their own reasons, or possibly to increase page loads and activity to make it look busier than it really is. When the transients aren't around this place works at a snail's pace for the most part.

  • I had a real sarcastic response for one of those questions and it was pretty much what you said.

  • And they never stick around more than a day or two. And they delete their questions before they delete their account (or admin deletes them). I find the whole thing suspect to be honest.

  • It was the bird wing.

I believe it was something like "Usually when my child displays serial killer tendencies, I start a cafemom account with a moniker similar to my situation and then post a question regarding my concernns."

But I deleted it. I think I'm going to start doing that.

  • I think it's the Admin just trying to liven things up here.

  • I know what you mean. The names will be variations on the issue in the question, or identifying totally with the question. Worriedmom or Pushovermom or something similar.

My thought is that sometimes people find Answers while searching the internet, and they decide to use the site (thus, they register.) And since they have to choose a screen name, they make one up that evokes or describes the concern that brought them to the site and motivated them to register.

  • Then you have promos who had her kid gumming on a sharpie.

  • What those names tell me is that most likely, the moms asking the questions won't stick around long.
