Depo Question?

I recently made the switch to depo from paragard iud. I received my first shot the same dat the iud was removed. My doctor told me I was ovulating at the time and to use a alternative method of birth control for the first week. The day after was my birthday and my husband and I had a little to much to drink ad im pretty sure we had unprotected sex. I always have a regular 28 day cycle however I am 10 days late now. I did take a test at one day late and it was negative. I understand that depo stops ovulation and many girls don't receive a period after one month of use but what if you ovulate before, should I still have a period?

  • Usually you won't get a period on depo even with the first month of use.

  • I asked the same question when she said it. She said my cervical mucus had a stretch like consistently and something about my cervix being softer and open.... I guess she knows she's been in that area many many times.

  • I would take another test to be sure. At ne day late it was probably too early.
