  • Not necessarily. My babies were all born between 7 lbs 7 oz - 8 lbs 9 oz, but they all 5 barely doubled their weight by a year. Babies grow at different rates and their size at birth doesn't always predict the size they will stay.

  • Keep in mind,if he tripled his weight by 1,which most kids do,he'd be 30 lbs,6 oz! That's like a 3 yr old

  • Sounds fine to me, but I'm not a doctor.

    Is your doctor concerned?

  • One pound per month from lowest weight is expected normal gain. He's fine. Not an "only." In fact, he's heavier than I'd be looking for.

  • Babies grow at different rates. Mine was a slow starter. If your doc isn't worried, you shouldn't worry, either.
