Anyone tried signing up for the exchange today?

Have you made it all the way through yet?

Been trying off and on for about 3 hours between other things. The form crashes or breaks somewhere along the way every single time. Most recently, the security questions don't show up, but it expects you to give answers to them anyway.

  • I want to make an exchange... for a new government!!! lol

No I haven't tried yet and I don't want to think about it. The whole thing sucks!!!

  • I'm mostly doing it as an exercise in futility. From what I've read from others in my state, we won't be able to afford any of it anyway.

  • I don't see how anyone can afford insurance. And even when you can they don't pay out anything. Insurance is nothing but a scam!! They want you to pay all these premiums and deductibles, but they don't want to pay out when you actually need them. I realize there are scammers out there, but for those who are really trying to make it, it's those people who are left high and dry!!

Just a sore subject... lol It's probably crashing with everyone trying to go on at the same time.

And with that, Obama has demonstrated he knows fuckall about computers (that's not specifically an Obama slam, just means he's equally as stupid as his co-workers in congress)

  • tried several times this morning, got thru twice, but it never showed me any security questions so i stopped bothering.

  • I browsed around it earlier this morning. Found out we don't qualify for any assistance, and that the plans on the exchange are far more expensive with far worse benefits than I can get on my own through some place like ehealthinsurance or directly through a specific insurance company. I'm trying right now to determine if the exchange plans even offer vision and dental options like regular ins companies do... I'm thinking they don't. In which case, I can get another plan on my own with dental and vision riders for almost as much as medical only on any of the exchange plans.

Sadly, most people won't understand this, and therefore won't realize that they are in fact getting screwed. That's assuming they can even get through to apply.

Oh, and I just found out that if I get a plan directly through specific insurance companies before the end of the year, my premium will be far less than if I want coverage to start 1/1/14.
