This is more of a venting than a question

I work at my church nursery two days a week,
and the director turned in my time sheet.
I told the lady that does the checks, that I'm needing
my check today. She told me that she was to buzy.
So I left and went home and called the church, and a different lady answered the phone.
So I told her that I could pick up my check tomorrow
She put me on hold, and the lady that does the checks,
got on the phone, and first thing was being hateful, and still
telling me she may not have my check ready then. It take's like
2 seconds to print it off. And to top it off, she kept
inurupting me when I was talking. So I started getting frustrated.
And hade a little tone in my voice but was still being politie.
She was being rude. Isn't a church supposed to have frendly people
working there and help you when you need help.

  • Church people are people first and foremost. They have good days and bad days. They have quirks and flaws like anyone else.
You say you go to church there. Do you have annoying things and flaws about you or are you always cheerful and kind and helpful to everyone.
You do not know what she was dealing with. I m also getting the idea that she does payroll on a certain day and they are distributed at a certain time. She has rules she has to follow in her job as well.

  • What are your pay dates supposed to be? Has she missed the date, or are you asking for it early? It may take seconds to print it off, but it takes time to caculate the hours, and figure the tax etc.

  • It could be said that church nursery workers shouldn't be pushy.

If she said she can't do it early, she's not going to do it early just because you're hounding her.

  • Wait... you don't have regular pay dates? She just prints off checks when you turn in your time? That's just dumb. Most employers have specific days when they pay employees, and they will not pay you before that day. It does take time to do payroll you know.

  • You will get paid on payday. Be patient and thankful you do have a job.

  • A church is full of human beings. Yes, ideally, they should be friendly and helpful, but they are subject to bad days, PMS, short tempers, stress reactions, toothaches, frazzled nerves, and all other human ailments that are likely to cause crabby attitudes.

  • FYI: It's already been 2 weeks.
The director just got around to turning
in the time sheet. And now the payroll
lady is telling me I have to wait 2 more
weeks. That will be a total of 4 weeks.
I can't wait that long, I need the money
    now.
