DD needs a crown. I am on charity care, because i don't have dental insurance. They want $400 for the crown. Is that a good price??

  • I had to get 2 back teeth crowned last year, the 2 cost $1,900. Luckily I have dental insurance. I am in the process of getting a new front tooth crown because I swallowed the old one. I was told the insurance will cover the entire cost. Can't wait to see what the bill will be.

  • Seems like a pretty normal price. Where is the tooth and what kind of crown are they quoting you? Stainless are less expensive and work just as well if it's a molar.

  • So it's an upper molar. Did they say if it was stainless or white? White will be more expensive than stainless. How old is your child? They lose their molars eventually anyhow. If it were me, I would have them quote me for a stainless crown (if they haven't already).

  • Tooth #19. They didn't say the type of crown.

  • Seems like it to me. Are you going to a clinic?

  • Is it for a permanent tooth, if not ask about a spacer.
