Protein Shakes?

Are these necessary? I am looking to loose about 20 lbs. I am doing cardio with weight training and wondered if I needed to take protein shakes to help build muscle? I don't have a high protein diet. How much protein should I be consuming in one day?

  • I don't mean to be gross but I have heard and read that if you swallow your man's stuff...you can get some protein like that.

  • Your body will absorb more protein from real food. You probably get more than you think.

  • You don't need to drink protein shakes unless you are in serious training for something, like a marathon or weight lifting. If you are just trying to loose a few lbs then you should get protein through your diet. Eat lean meats.
