Parent/Teacher Conference Question

School sent home interim reports saying we could set up a meeting with the teacher if we wished. I would like to set up a meeting, but not to talk about grades and school work, but to find out how DD is doing with interacting with the other children and how well she is accepted by the other children.

Is that an appropriate thing to want to discuss or would teacher only want/except to talk about school work and/or grades?

IMHO- more parents should check up on their kid's social skills.

  • The teacher should be willing to talk about that. I discussed both with my DD's teacher.

  • Both my children were/are shy and I absolutely discussed that at parent teacher conferences and none of their teachers have had an issue yet discussing it and giving ideas to help them out.
