DD: Well, if he can go on a date ...

DD: can I go hang out at the mall?
Me: No.
DD: Whhhhyyyy
Me: (choosing to ignore the whiny voice) Because he is 17 and you are 14.
DD: No he's not. He's 16 and that's only a 2 year difference.
Me: 48 hours and he'll be 17, soooo....
DD: I'll be 15 in a few days! It's not fair!
Me: Logical argument fail. Care to try again?
DD: (storms off in angry huff)

Anyone care to guess what she'll say, when she comes back, to get me to change my mind?
Notice, I haven't even started with how the mall is not an appropriate location for unsupervised, broke teens.

  • She's going to come back with, "You're only saying that because he's a boy and I'm a girl".... that used to be my come back....

    But, I don't blame you.

  • They are looking at the $1 theater, because DS has decided the only way he will date is if he can pay for it himself without help from Mom/Dad.

OMG he is too cute!!! ;o)

  • Aww, that is very mature of him, the movie had us all on the edge of our seat, my kids like horror as well, but this was more of a guessing game, my youngest just went for a bike ride, but only if I let him take my phone, LOL!

  • Yea me to, at 16 I was messing around with grown men to. Doing other things my parents didn't know I was doing . So the mall thing is petty stuff to me. She will probably come back arty again to go. If you still refuse, she will say you are mean and she hates you.

  • I am in agreement with you! maybe they can go see Prisoners? Yes it is rated R, but no sex, I took my kids to see it, and it is amazing that for 2 weeks, the only thing I have had to say, is remember the movie, LOL!
